Imperial Dade Team Makes a Difference Volunteering at the Food Bank of the Rockies

As part of Imperial Dade’s Week of Service, eight members of the Western Paper Division helped prepare more than 1,000 meals by volunteering at the Food Bank of the Rockies kitchen in Denver. These meals were distributed to several different after-school programs in Colorado.

After school meals follow the ISDA nutrition guidelines and include nutritious single servings of grains, vegetables, fruit, and protein. These meals are designed to help kids get the nutrition they need to develop and let them focus on being kids.

1 in 7 kids in Colorado experiences food insecurity, and Food Bank of the Rockies aims to answer the challenge of hunger. They served nearly 85,000 kids in Colorado and Wyoming through their Food for Kids programs, Totes of Hope™ and summer and after-school meals. They distributed more than 42,650 meals each month on average in 2024.

Team members from various departments participated, including sales support, marketing, and fulfillment. HR and Payroll Administrator Sarah Gilbert remarked, “It was a really rewarding experience, putting these meals together for all these kids with our team. We had fun getting to spend time with people we don’t interact with every day, all while giving back to some of the most important members of our community – the kids.”

Imperial Dade’s Week of Service highlights our commitment to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by serving the communities in which we operate so that many will not have to worry about their next meal. It is a way of moving closer to Dr. King’s vision of a beloved community.
