Western Paper Team Member Spearheads Fundraiser for Parkinson's Research

Prior to joining the Western Paper team, supplier management specialist Joe Corriere worked with a buddy of his named Gary Bass, who tragically passed away due to Parkinson’s disease. In order to honor his friend and create an opportunity to support the fight against Parkinson’s, Joe started a golf event at Gary’s home course. Seven years later, the annual experience has grown into a special day that includes lunch, raffle prizes, a silent auction and skills competitions, all designed to raise funds to benefit the Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies.

Joe is all too familiar with the impact of Parkinson’s, having lost both his parents and his mother-in-law to the disease. In addition to being a sponsor of the event, Western Paper team members had the opportunity to make donations to the nonprofit, with Western Paper management matching their donations. We look forward to sending many more of our crew out to play next year for this important cause that hits all too close to home, and appreciate Joe’s dedicated effort to honor his friend and make a difference in the lives of those touched by Parkinson’s disease.
