Western Paper Team Donates Time and Resources to Benefit Jamaican Children
Western Paper’s motto is, “We’re Here to Help!”
Our team members can often say that with pride, especially when volunteering their time and money to help a good cause. This month, that outreach was to make a difference in the lives of children ages 2-6 who attend the Seventh-Day Adventist Church Lilliput in Montego Bay, Jamaica!
About two dozen team members assembled at the early education school for boys and girls to install playground equipment Western Paper purchased, including a slide, swing set and jungle gym of climbing bars. Holes were dug, sand was spread and mortar was poured. The team also purchased and assembled half a dozen picnic tables with benches.
Once the equipment was built, our team painted it all in bright colors to reflect the cheery countenance of the excited children watching in delight! This service project was performed on a Friday, allowing the weekend for the equipment to set and dry. So while most people don’t look forward to Mondays, we’re pretty confident these happy Jamaican boys and girls were doing just that! And we’re thrilled to know that they will enjoy their new play area for many years to come!
