Western Paper Team Takes on a Hairy Fundraising Assignment

MOVEMBER.jpg

Spearheaded by Western Paper Sales Consultant Jeff Hartman, our November charitable fundraising effort was a dramatic success! For the 8th year in a row, Jeff diligently worked to make a positive difference in the fight against cancer, suicide and poor mental health for men. It’s a passion for Jeff, who sadly lost his own father to cancer years ago, and this year was something extra special!

As part of our ever popular mustache growing contest, we had 20 different male team members—at least one from each of our four locations!—grow mustaches with the top honors for facial hair growth going to our always jovial Corporate Warehouse and Logistics Manager Brian Faherty!

But the mustache contest was just the beginning of the broader effort to raise awareness…and funds. In addition to an office pizza party, Jeff Hartman hosted a “Martini Mustache Night” special event at the Wash Park Grill in Denver. With 120 in attendance, the event raised $5,000 through silent auction support.

Through these events and direct fundraising efforts to individuals and Wester Paper team members and leadership, Jeff raised a total of $35,689 in 30 days, making him the #2 Movember fundraiser in the entire country!

We’re so proud of what Jeff accomplished and can’t wait to see what he and the entire Western Paper team can do to help support men’s health next year!

Cheers to facial hair, mental health awareness, suicide prevention and cancer-fighting support!
